Relieve Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar Fasciitis, also known as jogger’s heel, is a painful foot ailment that affects approximately 30% of the population at some point in their lifetime. Most commonly caused by injury to the plantar fascia (thick connective tissue on the underside of the foot), symptoms typically include a gradual onset of heel pain that feels like a deep bruise, in addition to a heel spur that can be felt through the skin at the point of the pain.
What Causes Plantar Fasciitis?
There are a number of known causes for plantar fasciitis including:
- Physical activity
- Obesity
- Degeneration of the tissues due to age
Plantar fasciitis pain will often be most evident right after waking and taking the first few steps in the morning, when standing for long periods of time, or directly after exercising or playing a sport.
I have plantar faciitis, developed from running. I have tried everything, walking boot, sleeping boot, PT, stretching, icing, wearing Dansko shoes, orthotics, taping my foot. The QUICK TAPE® strap made by Support The Foot is the best support that I have found so far.Andrea Weymiller
